Nicaraguan Matryoshka

Nicaraguan Matryoshka
Hello! Since my last post, I have completed a Nicaraguan Matryoshka. Prints and a coloring sheet are now available (and other products as well). This is the fourth Central American culture I've drawn. I pinned a board of Nicaraguan images I found around the web here.

Russian Doll & Snowman, A Snow Globe Love Story, Coloring & Activity Book Printable

I also have a new coloring and activity book printable PDF,  "Russian Doll & Snowman, A Snow Globe Love Story"! I have offered this coloring/activity book in the past but now I'm making the file itself available. So you can print as many as you'd like for a one time price. It includes 4 coloring pages, a maze, a "draw your own snow globe scene", and 2 tent card dolls to make. Also a full color cover and a table of contents.

Peace,
Amy

Łowicz Polish Bride Matryoshka

Łowicz Polish Bride Matryoshka

Hello! I have just completed my Polish Bride from Łowicz, Matryoshka. She is the second Polish Matryoshka I have drawn. The first one I drew back in 2010.

Prints, coloring sheet files and merchandise for both are now available in my Etsy and zazzle shops.

If you have a culture you would like me to draw, or have made a suggestion and are waiting for me to compete it, please send me any photos or links to examples you have of the cultural dress you are interested in. I would love to see it and it may help me get to your suggestion quicker.

Thank you for your continued interest and support! :)

Peace,
Amy

This summer I saw the new film version of Far from the Madding Crowd and then read the book by Thomas Hardy. They inspired me to draw this design, Shepherd, also available in my spoonflower shop.

Bougainvillean Matryoshka and New DIY printables!

Bougainvillean Matryoshka
Hello all! My latest drawing is a Bougainvillean Matryoshka. My husband and I watched the film Mr. Pip, directed byAndrew Adamson, adapted from the novel Mister Pip by Lloyd Jones. The film and the beautiful people of Bougainville inspired me to learn more about the people, culture and history of Bougainville. I hope this drawing inspires others to do the same. I pinned some images of Bougainvilleans to a board here.

Also, since my last post I have designed some new DIY printables with my Sugar Plum Fairy. An ornament:

Taino of Boriken, Puerto Rico, Matryoshka

Taino of Boriken (Puerto Rico) Matryoshka

Hello, I have missed reaching out to you, drawing, showing you my work. There is no easy way to say this; after battling cancer for two years, my Dad passed away on May 22. I have been grieving and did not have it in me to draw until now. I loved (love) him very much. So, I hope you will understand my absence. I know my Dad is happy that I am drawing again.

Above is my Taino of Boriken (Puerto Rico) Matryoshka, she is now available in my shop. Such a wonderful culture suggestion I received. Thank you for all your suggestions. While doing my research I pinned images I found on the web and created a Taino board here

Also new to my shop, I am now offering custom name labeled or culture / nationality labeled 8.5"x11" prints of all my Matryoshka. I have had many requests to add the name of the person for whom the print is being purchased  to the print. So I have created listings for each of my Matryoshka to accommodate this. At purchase, just leave me a note with the name you would like added to the print or the print will be labeled with the culture / nationality.

The next two on my suggestions list are Argentinian and Canadian. I am having some difficulty in my research for these two so if you have knowledge of these cultures, their history and traditional dress please share it with me. :)

Peace,
Amy

Hungarian of Kalotaszeg, Transylvania Matryoshka

Hungarian of Kalotaszeg, Transylvania Matryoshka

This week I drew a Hungarian of Kalotaszeg, Transylvania Matryoshka! After I had a request to draw her on my blog, I received helpful advice on Facebook on what Hungarian words to use when researching the costume. Thank you for your suggestions and all your helpful tips! While researching I found many wonderful examples on the web and pinned them to a board to share with you here.

In the past I have received interest in seeing my original preliminary sketches so here she is:

You can see this and more of my sketches on my blog.

This is my second Hungarian Matryoshka illustration. You can see my first one in a blog post here, and I drew a Romanian Saxon Matryoshka you can see here.

Also this week, I've joined storylane.com/AmyPerrotti! It is a brand new site. I am posting these posts (my blog posts) over there too. Soon I am planning on posting some stories about what has inspired me to become an artist and to draw my international / cultural inspired Matryoshka.  So, please stay tuned! :)

I'll be researching and beginning my next illustration for Samoa in the next few days. If you have any tips regarding this culture please let me know.

Peace,
Amy
