I just drew this Tuareg inspired doll today. I have had this drawing stirring in me for a while. Very fun to at last be drawing it. Back in school I drew my first Tuareg inspired illustration and I have been itching to do a nesting doll drawing. I hope you like her. :)

She is so lovely! I love the deep violet hues.
Thank you Holly! :D
I had never heard of the Tuareg before. I found some beautiful images by Googling the word :-) Thanks for educating me!
Hi Nadine, I am unclear about the name. It seems to be a name created by others to identify them but not used by the actual people. Like Columbus named Native Americans "Indians" or the Inuits being called "Eskimos". I would like to use the name they prefer, I'm just not sure what it is. They are a Berber people of the Sahara. I first learned of these beautiful people through National Geographic magazine years ago. I just remember learning about how they used allot of indigo to dye their clothing and how the women's fingers were dyed blue from it. I was and am still fascinated by them.
Very cool. These are turning out really nice.
Thanks heaps Ren! I think this is the start of a second series. I'm hoping to do a HanFu style doll in this series. I'm seeing pinks for her.
Oh so lovely! What a great illustration. I would love to see her in pink.
BTW, just found your blog and followed! I'd love for you to visit mine: http://serendipityhandmade.blogspot.com/
Thank you SH! Funny you should mention pink. I am currently drawing a Chinese nesting doll in pink. :) I might do one of the Tuareg style in pink rose colors. Thank you for the idea!
