New- Polish Girl Matryoshka

Introducing my latest drawing, a Polish Girl Matryoshka! I had a request for a Polish girl matryoshka last week. I was so delighted when I saw how interesting and intricate Polish traditional clothing is and happily discovered the origins of something that I have wondered about for the longest time. For many years there was a house I would often pass by that had beautiful white lace curtains with a zigzag edge. I would always look at the curtains and wonder where they came from. I knew they had to be Old World, they were so beautiful. I was delighted when I saw that the Polish aprons appear to be the same lace fabric! Finally, my white curtain mystery is solved! Please keep the great suggestions coming! :)

She has a warm smile! And I love those braided pigtails. I wear my hair like that ALL the time, and I think I always will no matter how old I get.

Thank you Holly! You do look really good in braids. Your hair is so smooth, mine is not. I always remember when I was a kid there would always be pieces sticking out of my braids. I told my hairdresser last time that all products seem to promote hair volume and I want the opposite. I have really BIG hair! LOL :)

WOW!!! Nice to find someone as obsessed with Russian dolls as I am... well, probably more :) I came across your site while looking for a printable pattern to make easy dolls into ornaments for my daughter and her friends for Christmas. I am feeling so inspired! What about a Dutch doll? Just a thought...

I got some plates and salt and pepper shakers from World Market last year. They have new ones this year. The faces aren't as cute as last years, but still cute. I bought the napkin ring holders and place cards. I set my Christmas table in Russian Dolls, and we tell the matroyshka story on Christmas Eve. :)

Here is a table I did with my plates in the spring: http://restlessrisa.blogspot.com/2010/04/spring-table-with-russian-dolls.html

Thanks again :)

Thank you for the suggestion Risa! I am researching Dutch dress now! :) Also, thank you for telling me about the plates and shakers. I have the Fred matryoshka measuring cups and spoons but I haven't seen these table settings. Did you see my blog about party items? http://amyperrotti.blogspot.com/2010/04/mothers-day-showers-festive-parties.html
